Orange is the new black

In honor of OITNB kicking off another season (just 1 week from today at midnight!!! OMG I can’t wait!!!!!) and in light of a major ‘heat wave’ set to come through Seattle this weekend (also can’t wait!), I give you the vintage orange two-piece summer suit. So here’s the deal, I actually do wear a lot of orange. I always have. I’d estimate that 22-24% of my wardrobe is dedicated to the color. It may even be accurate to say that I probably do wear more orange than I do black. What can I say, the color makes me very happy.

I found this gem at the Fremont Vintage Mall in the Fremont Neighborhood of Seattle last winter. The Fremont Vintage Mall is a great place to spend a rainy afternoon. It’s two floors of fabulous vintage finds including clothes, furniture, housewares, records, toys, and so many other treasures from the 1950’s-1990’s. Even if you’re not into buying vintage, consider it a museum with free admission and check it out!

p.s. That’s my dog in the photo up there. She was in the middle of a rousing game of fetch during this little photo sesh. I love my dog so much. If you followed me on Instagram you would know this by now. #virginiafrances p.p.s. Obviously, it would be silly to wear full blown polyester in an actual heat wave, but for an average June day in Seattle this would serve as the perfect base layer. Just kidding. You people outside of the Pacific NW need to know that Seattle is THE BEST in the Summertime! Come visit and see for yourself.
